Durst Analytics Overview

Durst Analytics is a data intelligence platform designed to help customers monitor and optimize the performance of their Durst printing systems.
It provides actionable insights by collecting operational data directly from each machine, aggregating it in the cloud, and visualizing it through dashboards and reports.

The primary goal is to learn from the past and present to optimize for the future, supporting improved productivity, faster troubleshooting, and data-driven decision-making across the print production environment.

Key Features of Durst Analytics

Durst Analytics empowers print businesses with a comprehensive set of tools to optimize production, enhance technical support, and enable data-driven decisions. The platform is structured around two main components: the Analytics Collector (on-site data acquisition) and the Analytics Cloud (centralized reporting and visualization).

Optimize Production

  • Real-Time Machine Monitoring
Instantly view the live status of each printer (Running, Idle, Setup, Breakdown)
→ Enables quicker operator response and proactive decision-making

  • Detailed Downtime Analysis
Logs every status change with timestamps
→ Identifies recurring setup or breakdown reasons and their impact on productivity

  • Shift-Based KPIs and Utilization Metrics
Analyze performance by shift, job type, or custom time periods
→ Highlights underutilized printers or inefficient shifts

  • Job-Level Production Reporting
Tracks job duration, number of copies, ink and substrate usage, and more
→ Compare actual vs. planned performance to uncover inefficiencies

Proactive & Efficient Technical Support

  • Remote Issue Diagnosis
Access historical status, events, and system messages remotely
→ Accelerates root cause analysis without requiring on-site visits

  • Error Rate Monitoring
Automatically flags machines with frequent or repeating errors
→ Triggers proactive service checks before the issue is reported

  • Ink Monitoring
Alerts when ink batches are near expiration
→ Prevents quality issues and avoids unplanned downtime

  • Software Version Overview
Displays the software version installed on each printer
→ Supports upgrade planning and access to new features

Analytics Architecture

Durst Analytics consists of two main components that work together to provide a comprehensive data intelligence solution:

  • Analytics Collector
  • Analytics Cloud

Analytics Architecture

Analytics Collector

The Analytics Collector is installed on every machine and, as the name suggests, collects data from printers. It standardizes this data into a unified format, enabling consistent visualization across different machine models.

The collector also synchronizes data with the Analytics Cloud whenever a network connection is available.

Additionally, it runs a local web server that allows users to view collected data for the specific printer it's installed on.

Offline Capability

The collector can operate entirely offline. If the network connection is lost, data collection continues uninterrupted. Once the connection is restored, all data is automatically synchronized with the cloud.

Analytics Cloud

The Analytics Cloud aggregates data from all connected collectors, giving customers a centralized view of all their Durst printers. It provides high-level performance statistics and insights across the entire machine fleet.

In the case of service requests, the cloud also enables our support team to access detailed machine information, speeding up troubleshooting and resolution times.

An extended version, Analytics+, includes access to a powerful REST API. This allows you to integrate your printer data into external systems such as ERP, MIS, or any application capable of consuming RESTful data.
